2023 Antique Tractor Pull Rules

  1. All weights are to be bolted or secured in a safe manner.  Front wheel weights on front wheels and rear wheel weights on rear wheels.  Wheel weight brackets are allowed as long as they are designed and secured safely.  Front weight brackets may not be wider than sheet metal or frame rails.  Front bracket and flat weights or suitcase weights may not extend more than 11 feet from the center of the rear axle.  Suitcase weights may be hung sideways on front weight brackets.  Belly bar brackets are not to extend further than center of rear tires and rear suitcase weights are not to extend past rear tires.
  2. Wheelie bars are mandatory and should not be attached to the draw bar in any way.  Minimum requirements for wheelie bars are as follows; A) 10 inches maximum from the ground, B) the back of the wheelie bar is to extend 5” inches behind the tire radius, C) pads = 4” x 4” square minimum and ¼” thick or thicker, spaced a minimum of 20” from outside of each pad, D) stabilizer bar system must be able to support the weight of the tractor in the heaviest class pulled.  Driver is responsible to keep front end of tractor down.  Center of front tractor axle cannot come above center of rear axle.
  3. Tractor drawbar point of hook cannot be more than 20 inches from the ground or less than 20 inches from the center of the axle.  Drawbar must be stationary in all directions and have a clevis or pulling ring, not to exceed 1 ¼ inches thick with at least a 2-inch opening.  Vertical clevis must have a stop to prevent the chain from rising.
  4. Drivers must remain seated at all times and in an upright position (no leaning back) and have one hand on the steering wheel while pulling. Drivers must obey flagman.
  5. All tractors must be registered 5 minutes prior to the start of the weight class to compete.
  6. Shifting of Torque Amplifier or similar devices is permitted if came from manufacturer on tractor.
  7. All engines must be natural aspirated, unless tractor came from the factory otherwise equipped.
  8. GASOLINE, DIESEL or LP fuel ONLY, NO nitrous oxide is to be used.
  9. If on the first pull, the sled fails to pass the 75-foot mark, “one” restart will be allowed.
  10. Tractors must remain in the defined “inbound” track area during the pull if a tractor tire touches the white line, the pull will be disqualified.
  11. Drivers must be at least 12 years of age, pullers under 18 years of age must have a parent/guardian signature.  The driver/puller (regardless of age) must be physically capable of operating the tractor.  Whoever is pulling the tractor must be able to weigh tractor (pull on and off the scale) and maneuver the tractor on to track to be hooked to sled safely, including backing up to the sled.
  12. All tractors (comp and non-comp) will not be allowed to exceed a margin of 100 pounds the weight limit in the class.
  13. All tractors must weigh immediately after their pull; failure to weigh when you pull away from the sled may result in disqualification.  Track officials have authority to re-weigh tractors at random for class weight verification.  If the tractor fails the weight check, one additional weighing will be granted, and must be completed without delay before the tractor leaves the scale area, as directed by track officials.
  14. No “full throttle” starts.  Jerking of the sled may result in disqualification.  When hooking and unhooking, the driver must put the tractor in neutral, release the clutch, apply the break, and signal by raising their hands when ready.
  15. All protest must be brought to the announcers stand prior to the start of the next weight class in competition (only protestor, driver, owner and 3 track officials) Protestors tractor will be inspected first.  Protestor must be in the same weight class as the tractor being protested.  Track officials are members working the track at the time of incident. (hookers, flag person, pull back tractor, scraper tractor and sled operator)
  16. No consumption of alcoholic beverages allowed for drivers in the competition of classes to be pulled by that individual.
  17. No one other than the driver is allowed on a tractor when it is in motion on show grounds. NO passengers.
  18. No tractor shall be left unattended with the engine running.  Any unattended tractor will be shut off.
  19. No persons shall be on the track guiding pullers. No one should be on track besides track officials.
  20. Trailers must have third ramp to load and unload tricycle tractors. If you do not have a third ramp you will be disqualified.
  21. Anyone, spectator or participant, is expected to behave with sportsman like conduct and if he/she fails to do so, will be asked to leave.  Profanity is strictly prohibited, and you will be escorted off by law enforcement officers
  22. The track and safety officials have control of the pull at all times; their decision is final.
  23. Track and Safety officials have authority to enforce all rules stated herein and to disqualify any tractor for violations and unsafe conditions.  At least 2 out of 3 track officials must agree. All decisions are final. NOTE: If your tractor does not meet specifications for the antique tractors, you will be allowed to pull Non-comp as long as you obey the safety rules.
  24. Pull off tractors may not alter or adjust any parts of tractor before pull off is completed.
  25. ANY part falling off of the tractor after being hooked and until being unhooked will result in disqualification.

AT ANY TRACTOR EVENT WE ARE SPONSORING, ALL TRACTORS MUST RUN AT 3.5 MPH OR LESS AT ALL TIMES ON EVENT GROUNDS.

Division 2:  Antique 3.5MPH Top Cut Tires:

  1. Weight Classes:  2500, 3000, 3500, 4000, 4500, 5000, 5500, 6000, 6500, 7000, 7500, 8000, 8500, 9000, 10,000
  2. All tractors must be stock and manufactured in 1959 and prior including stock engine.
  3. 3.5 MPH speed limit
  4. Top cut tires (See chart below)
  5. RPM’s are allowed to exceed NATPA RPM chart by maximum of 20% or less
  6. NO fabricated intake or exhaust manifolds or headers, cast iron only.

Division 5:  8.0MPH Any Tire:

  1. Weight Classes:  3000, 3500, 4000, 4500, 5000, 5500, 6000, 6500, 7000, 7500, 8000, 8500, 9000, 10,000
  2. All tractors must be manufactured 1964 and prior.
  3. 8.0MPH Speed limit
  • Kill switch recommended 2023, required for 2024.

Division 6:  12.0MPH Any Tire:

  1. Weight Classes:  3000, 3500, 4000, 4500, 5000, 5500, 6000, 6500, 7000, 7500, 8000, 8500, 9000, 10,000
  2. All tractors must be manufactured 1964 and prior.
  3. 12.0MPH Speed limit.
  4. 3000 RPM limit.
  5. Must have fan shroud or electric fan
  6. Fenders are required.
  7. Kill switch is required.
